December 2025: Albany Capital Center Experiences Milestone Year with Highest Attendance on Record and Eight Award Recognitions
2025 stands as the most decorated year in the Albany Capital Center (ACC)’s history after setting an attendance record with 114,000+ guests, the highest total in the venue’s eight-year history, and being recognized with eight prestigious industry awards.
The best-ever attendance eclipses the prior record in 2019 by an estimated 8%, an accomplishment showcasing that events and meetings interest has not only returned, but exceeds, pre-pandemic levels in downtown Albany and New York’s Capital Region.
The ACC also received national publication recognition from across the event and meeting industry with the prestigious honors showcasing the facility as a premier destination in the Capital Region. From the ACC’s state-of-the-art features to the staff members that run its daily operations through a customer-first, innovative mindset, the eight awards exemplify the facility’s affordable luxury philosophy.
October 2025: Major Expansion Begins at the Albany Capital Center, Paving the Way for Larger-Scale Events
Representatives of the Albany Convention Center Authority (ACCA) were joined today by state and local dignitaries to break ground on a $54.9 million expansion of the Albany Capital Center (ACC).
“The groundbreaking of the Albany Capital Center expansion reflects Governor Hochul’s vision for a stronger, more connected capital city,” said Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight. “By investing in modern, flexible space that attracts world-class conferences and events, we are creating jobs, driving economic activity, and advancing the Championing Albany’s Potential Initiative to ensure New York’s capital thrives for generations to come.”
April 2024: Albany Capital Center Hosts Its 1,000th Event with Northeast Aquirers Association Annual Conference
The Albany Capital Center (ACC) will celebrate a historic milestone when it hosts its 1000th event this week. The milestone will be reached when the Northeast Acquirers Association hold their annual conference at the ACC on April 3 and 4.
“Reaching one thousand is a special accomplishment, especially for me personally who has been selling this facility since 2015, and to think the ACC has hosted that many events in just seven years is truly extraordinary,” said Shannon Licygiewicz, general manager of the Albany Capital Center. “I would like to send my sincere gratitude to all of our hardworking staff, dedicated partners, event organizers and attendees – YOU are why this accomplishment can take place!”
