Since launching the firm in the 1990’s Shapiro has advised Fortune 500 companies, major labor unions, real estate developers, nonprofit organizations, healthcare institutions, and cultural leaders. His work has focused on media placement, brand management, crisis communications, and strategic storytelling – all rooted in relationships and trust. Shapiro began his career in media and public service before rising through the ranks to become VP at Howard J. Rubenstein Associates, one of the most influential PR agencies in the country. There, he managed high-profile accounts across sports, business, and entertainment, gaining a reputation as a problem-solver and connector. In the hospitality sector, Shapiro is the owner of The War Room Tavern in downtown Albany, a stylish and upscale restaurant know for its welcoming environment, thoughtful menu, and loyal clientele.

In 2025, Shapiro and his partners acquired the iconic Le Serre restaurant in Albany, with plans to transform it into an exclusive private members club and culinary landmark.
