Francisco Calderon serves as the Deputy Alternate Public Defender for Albany County. He has been with the office since November of 2014. Mr. Calderon established the Law Office of Francisco Calderon in November, 2014. Mr. Calderon has more than 25 years of experience handling complex investigations ranging from major felonies, long term investigations and homicides. Mr. Calderon also served as an assistant district attorney for the Albany County District Attorney’s Office for 16 years.  Mr. Calderon served as the Bureau Chief of the Street Crimes Unit for seven years. He was responsible for the prosecution of all narcotics and firearm related investigations.  

  

Mr. Calderon graduated from Siena College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.  He received a Juris Doctor degree from Western New England College School of Law in 1997. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in January, 1998.
